Broken Record? Maybe there is a reason...

We sound like a broken record, but hear us out: a customer came in with a 2018 vehicle only 75k miles on the car. This customer was going anywhere between 7k-12k miles between oil changes and never had a transmission flush done. The make and model of the car are SUPER sensitive and that long between oil changes and never doing a transmission service hurt the vehicle. Literally had this car with needing a new engine and a transmission. We performed several troubleshooting tactics and did some research to see if there was something we were missing or something else it could be. Obviously we did not want to deliver this horrible news, so we gave options: replace both engine and transmission, or we could do a "band-aid" fix. We would do some options that would help but not fix the problem, but alleviate some financial burden and help.
When you don't change your oil, you: increase the wear, worse MPG, can cause the car to overheat, clog the systems, void warranty, POTENTIAL engine failure, diminish the life span of the vehicle's engine and other problems. Same with the transmission fluid!
Newer cars are MORE fragile than older cars. If you want your car to last, you HAVE to take care of it. Don't get me wrong, older cars need their fluids changed as well, but if you went 7500 between, the damage was minimal. Newer cars can't handle that. I thought this was a myth, but google " are cars more fragile now than before" and read the articles. To mass produce these new cars that are beautiful, quiet and energy/ gas efficient, there has to be cost cuts somewhere - and unfortunately that comes at a price of longevity.
We like to use this analogy, but it just makes sense: think of the old school NOKIA. That was a sturdy phone. You could drop it, you could get it wet, you could do whatever and it would withstand and still work! Now think of our phones. We have to put a protector case on it, we have to change it out every few years - why? because that is the manufacturers intention to keep the $$ flowing in. Yes, the newer phones can do a lot more than our old NOKIA phones, but the durability, longevity and integrity of the phone suffer. Same with our cars.
